In addition to her most current series of paintings, Saluja’s work has included explorations of her heritage and cultural identity as an Indian Sikh-American.
Her life-size oil portrait of Maharajah Ranjit Singh was exhibited alongside her commissioned replica of F.X. Winterhalter’s “Maharajah Duleep Singh” at the Royal Ontario Museum in 2010 in a show titled “Kings of Punjab”, and was featured in the 2011 Robert Lieberman/Akshay Kumar movie “Breakaway” starring Rob Lowe and Vinay Virmani. Learn more about the paintings in SikhChic’s 2009 article.
In 2019 Saluja won the BP Travel Award from London’s National Portrait Gallery for her proposal to create portraits of volunteers in the vast free kitchen at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. “Vand Chakna” has been made available as a limited edition print, and original works are available through Sugarlift Gallery.
From her Solo Show in September 2021 at 33Contemporary, Saluja has launched limited edition prints of “Bloom”.
